In Celestial Snowfall, recorded in 1987, Raylius set out to create a large scale emulation of a meditative experience. Building on some of the concepts initiated in "Venusian Sunset" on the Daydreams album, he intuitively created a deep exploration of alpha and theta brainwave states drawn from his own quiet experiences, long before learning about the emerging science of neurophysiological phenomena.
Recorded in his Palms neighborhood apartment in Los Angeles, the piece was originally intended to be matched with other material of the time to create a third Raylius Experiment album, but ended up lying dormant and unreleased for years on account of his extensive work in 1988 on the double album of rock music entitled Exit, his collaborative work with other recording artists in Santa Barbara, and the beckoning of new music that would become Ever Expanding Inner Universe.
This 2018 version was remixed and remastered from the original multitrack tapes.
